Planning a successful baby shower
Baby showers are a lot of fun, especially for the pregnant mom-to-be. Not only is this something for the baby, but its something she doesn’t have to go out and buy. Before you throw a baby shower for someone there are a few things you should do to prepare. The first thing is figure out if this will be a surprise shower or not. There are benefits to both, the first one being if the mom to be knows she can help you with a list of people that she would like to be there. However, if it is a surprise she’ll be touched that you cared enough to throw her a baby shower. But be careful you don’t want to give her too much of surprise and put her in labor!
Making the Guest List When it comes to making the guest list things can get a little tricky. Find out if there is anyone that would be upset if they weren’t invited. Never leave out close family or friends. At least give them the option of showing up even if you don’t like them !
Games Planning: It can be difficult to choose the best games as there are so many available.Choose wisely and make sure you have a few gifts as prizes. Baby shower games are a lot of fun, here is a quick list.
Mommy’s belly- The mom-to-be stand in the center of the room and each guest guesses how big her belly is using a string or a toilet paper sheets. Find out who guessed the closest.
Guess the nursery rhyme- Give each guest a sheet of nursery rhymes and have them guess the nursery rhyme or finish it. This will help everyone remember them and see who reads those bedtime stories to the lucky baby !
Did you say Baby Game?- Each guest is given a small clothes pin to wear around their neck on a necklace or on their shirt. Every time someone says “Baby” all the other guests try to catch them.If they do they get to take one pin. At the end of the party the guest with the most pins wins a prize.
Memory- Using a plastic tin of some sort place a bunch of baby items in it such as, bib, thermometer, baby spoon, diaper rash crme, etc. Anything you’d use on a baby. Let each guest get a chance to look in the bin for a few seconds and take it away. Once everyone is finished have them write down everything that was in the box. The person with the most correct answers wins.
Baby Food Tasting - Have a variety of baby food in jars, take off the outside wrapper and place a number at the bottom of the jar, on a separate piece of paper write the name of each jar. Each guest is dished out a spoonful of baby food to try. Have them write down what they think each one is. The one with the most correct answers wins a prize.
Have a cool baby shower. Lets hope the mom to be receives lots of gifts and all the guests have a great time.
Have you found a plan that brings results and helps you lose weight really fast? We don’t want to lose weight so fast that it is unhealthy, but we need to lose the weight fast enough that we don’t get discouraged.
I have struggled every day since the birth of my first child to lose weight and balance family life with my own needs. It isn’t easy. In addition, many women in their mid 30’s and 40’s also struggle with monthly hormonal effects which often result in migraine headaches. This seriously complicates matters. So crash diets, that throw your body into a tailspin are not an option. Massive sudden changes that throw off our sensitive bodily chemistry simply isn’t an option Therefore crash diets are out. You end up feeling worse than you would if you had just kept the weight on not to mention the fact that crash diets are unhealthy and absolutely no fun.
Knowing all this, how do we lose weight really fast or at least fast enough that you won’t be 50 or 60 years old by the time it starts to come off. I mean, we are not getting any younger. It’s time to get the weight off!
Of course, exercise and a healthy diet where you are consuming fewer calories than you burn are a great idea. What else can be done? That’s the question I always keep asking myself. I don’t have the luxury spending hours upon hours a day in a gym working out. I live in the real world where kids need to be fed, the house needs to be cleaned, homework needs to be done, etc. Oh, and did I mention my job? I know many of us are in the same boat.
What about high metabolism foods to help shed pounds fast - or at least faster? Foods that actually help you increase your metabolism. Foods such as apple, peach, pear, strawberries, watermelon, artichokes, cauliflower, corn, eggplant, okra, etc? For me this is a good start - except I have to avoid high sugar items such as apples. Too much sugar = migraine for me. But not all of these “high metabolism” foods are high in sugar. Many of them are good choices for a healthy diet. However, I really don’t think that if I sit around and eat buckets full of cauliflower all day - every day that I am going to get to the weight I need. If it were that easy, then wouldn’t everybody be doing it?
So, even though we’ve established that choosing specific types of food can be helpful and that you can’t really go wrong with eating a healthy diet and exercise, where does that leave us? Are we any closer to losing weight really fast? On the opposite end of the spectrum, its no secret that starving ourselves is not the key. So what is the key to losing weight really fast? Any colicky breastfed baby is in danger of being changed over to formula because the mother is wondering ‘why is my baby fussy?’ She’s beginning to suspect it might be her milk causing the colic.
I’d want to offer this advice ‘Please don’t change to formula as that won’t stop the colic, plus your newborn wouldn’t be getting the antibodies you’re providing now in your milk. You’re breastfeeding and doing fine so be thankful for that.’
Formula isn’t a baby colic remedy and isn’t as good. It won’t help with calming a fussy baby. After 6 weeks of breastfeeding my colicky newborn I made this mistake myself years ago and I’d guess thousands of mothers do every day.
While a mother’s breastfeeding it’s very easy and quick to stop baby crying and simply cure colic once and for all. This is the ideal way so mothers need to keep right on breastfeeding while they learn more.
Formula fed babies suffering from colic can receive help as well.
